Leading Pakistani singer Abrar-ul-Haq has expressed his anger over the use of his song by an Indian filmmaker and director and hinted at legal action. Pakistani singer Abrar-ul-Haq has expressed this in a statement released on the social networking website ‘Twitter’.
Song “Nach Punjaban” has not been licensed to any one. If someone is claiming it , then produce the agreement. I will be taking legal action, said Abrar Ul Haq.
In his tweet, Abrar-ul-Haq said that he did not sell the rights of his song ‘Nach Punjaban’ to any Indian film. In this regard, they reserve the right to sue.It should be noted that well-known Indian filmmaker and director Karan Johar has included Abrar-ul-Haq’s famous song Nach Punjaban Nach in his film Jag Jag Geo without any permission or rights.Prominent singer Abrar-ul-Haq has taken a stand in his statement that Karan Johar should not be included in his films by stealing songs.
I have not sold my song “ Nach Punjaban” to any Indian movie and reserve the rights to go to court to claim damages. Producers like @karanjohar should not use copy songs. This is my 6th song being copied which will not be allowed at all.
According to Hum News, Abrar-ul-Haq has claimed that this is his sixth song which has been stolen by Indian filmmakers and at the same time said that he will not allow it at all.
However, on the other hand T-Series released an official Tweet stating:-
We have legally acquired the rights to adapt the song #NachPunjaban released on iTunes on 1st January, 2002 & available on Lollywood Classics’ YouTube channel, owned by @1Moviebox, for #JugJuggJeeyo produced by @DharmaMovies.
