Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan Mansoor Ahmad Khan Monday said that Taliban will announce formation of the new government in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of foreign troops on August 31.
Talking to a private television, he said Taliban were holding talks with Afghan leaders for the formation of the new government.
He said Pakistan’s embassy in Kabul evacuated 400 Pakistanis through flights of PIA and land route of Torkham.
Pakistan also helped in evacuation of 1500 to 2000 foreign nationals, Afghans and officials of the World Bank.
Pakistan embassy provided transport to nationals of Turkey, the United States and other countries for their evacuation and the international community appreciated the work done by the government of Pakistan, he added.
He said Taliban had engaged with the Afghan leadership including Hamid Karzai, Dr Abdullah Abdullah and Gulbudin Hikmatyar.
The envoy told that the international community was desirous of formation of a broad based government in Afghanistan representing the wishes of its people.
The new government should respect the human rights, he said adding the formation of government would be done through an intra Afghan dialogue to ensure long lasting peace and stability in Afghanistan.
To a question, he said Taliban wanted withdrawal of foreign forces from Afghanistan on August 31.
He said Dr Abdullah Abdullah told him that his talks with Taliban were positive.
Mansoor said Pakistan wanted an across the board engagement with all ethnic groups in Afghanistan, adding Pakistan recently invited the Afghan leadership for consultations.
