As per latest reports Dubai-Kozhikode Air India flight (IX-1344) skidded during landing at Karipur Airport at around 7.45 pm today resulting in 14 dead (including the pilot), 123 injured & 15 severly injured. The ace pilot senior Wing Commander DV Sathe, Ex NDA, Sword of Honour,1984 commissioned, retired as an ace test Pilot was an inspirational figure in aviation industry who lost his life in this tragic crash.
The Boeing-737 flight from Dubai to Kerela was flying home stranded overseas Indians who were stuck due to the coronavirus pandemic. There were 190 passengers and crew on board, and about 10 infants, the civil aviation ministry said in a statement.
