Former Australia allrounder Andrew Symonds has died in a car crash at the age of 46.
Andrew Symonds was an Australian international cricketer, who played all three formats as a batting all-rounder. He was an important member of two World Cup winning squads. Symonds played as a right-handed, middle order batsman and alternated between medium pace and off-spin bowling.
Andrew Symonds Cause of death
Symonds was the sole passenger in the devastating car crash which happened just outside of Townsville in his home state of Queensland and police confirmed that a 46-year-old male died at the scene.
“As per reports, shortly after 11pm his car was seen on Hervey Range Road, near Alice River Bridge when it left the roadway and rolled,” confirmed the police statement.
Emergency services tried their best to revive the 46-year-old driver and sole occupant, but unfortunately, he died of his injuries.
