Biometric SIMs verification is the much talked about thing in Pakistan. Every mobile telecom brand is taking maximum steps to facilitate their customers with Biometric SIMs verification services and even willing to provide doorstep services to customers if the sims to be verified are in numbers.
Keeping in view the same as per news the deadline will be extended to facilitate maximum genuine customers.
Currently, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and mobile companies set the deadline of February 26, 2015 for verification. However, hundreds of thousands of finger prints were not verified due to technical issues.
According to PTA, 5 million SIMs were blocked during the bio-metric verification process. Moreover, PTA sources revealed that more than 42.5 million SIMs have been verified so far but more than 60 percent SIMs are still pending to be processed. This is a good number and the cellular companies will not be interested in loosing this chunk of its users, thus the extension in deadline will help both the users and the cellular operators.
