In a rare and fiery political statement, Bushra Bibi, the wife of imprisoned PTI founder Imran Khan, accused the government of conspiring against her and her husband. The former first lady made these remarks in a video message urging Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters and workers to actively participate in the November 24 protest, which she termed as a “final” and “do-or-die” movement against the current administration.
Accusations Against General Bajwa and the Government
In her statement, Bushra Bibi recalled an incident following Imran Khan’s barefoot visit to Medina, a gesture of religious devotion. She alleged that after this visit, calls began pouring in to General Qamar Javed Bajwa questioning Khan’s actions and legitimacy. “Who is this person you brought back? We don’t want such people,” Bushra Bibi claimed Bajwa was told, highlighting what she described as the onset of a targeted campaign against them.
She further alleged that the government was moving toward abolishing Sharia law in Pakistan and criticized General Bajwa for being complicit in a smear campaign against Khan. According to Bushra Bibi, the PTI founder was unfairly labelled a “Jewish agent” as part of a systematic effort to discredit him and his party.
Call for Peaceful Protest
Focusing on the November 24 protest, Bushra Bibi reiterated that the demonstration would be conducted in strict accordance with Pakistan’s constitution and laws, asserting the right to peaceful assembly. “No one can prevent us from holding a peaceful protest,” she emphasized.
She conveyed a strong message from Imran Khan to PTI supporters, urging them to join the protest in full force. The date of the protest, she stated, would remain unchanged unless the PTI founder himself announced otherwise.
“The PTI founder has conveyed a message urging everyone to join the November 24 protest. The date will remain unchanged under any circumstances,” she declared in a video shared on PTI’s official X account.
A Critical Moment for PTI
The November 24 protest marks a pivotal moment for the PTI as it seeks to rally its supporters and mount pressure on the government. Bushra Bibi’s rare public appearance and her pointed accusations add to the intensifying political drama surrounding the party and its leadership.
As the nation braces for the planned demonstration, the political temperature in Pakistan continues to rise, with all eyes on the events set to unfold on November 24.
