PM Imran Khan made a few changes in Pakistan’s cabinet after the findings of an inquiry as reported by Federal Investigation Agency in regards to the wheat and sugar scandal that was made public two days ago.
Prior to this, Punjab Food Minister Samiullah Chaudhry resigned from his post for his alleged involvement in the wheat and sugar scandal while Jahangir Tareen was also sacked from the chairmanship of Agriculture Task Force.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has made following reshuffle in the Federal Cabinet:-
- Makhdoon Khusru Bakhtiyar made Federal Minister for Economic Affairs
- Syed Fakhar Imam made Federal Minister for Minister of National Food Security
- Mr Hammad Azhar Federal Minister for Industries
- Mr Azam Sawati Federal Minister forNarcotics Control
- Mr Babar Awan Advisor for Parliamentary Affairs
- Mr Mohammad Shahzad Arbab removed as Advisor
- Resignation of Mr. Khalid Maqbool Siddique as Federal Minister has been accepted
- Mr. Amin ul Haq appointed as Federal Minister for Telecom
- Mr. Hashim Popalzai removed as Secretary Ministry of National Food Security & Research
- Mr Omar Hameed transferred and appointed as Secretary Ministry of National Food Security
