Our Verdict
The tagline of this product is “split the plate.” We think it a wonderful initiative for a country like ours where many people go to bed without food or do not get food 3 times a day. It is very important that we as a community understand the value of sharing food and be a little more empathetic towards each other. The advertisement is very well thought out and also very well executed. The actors have also done a great job. Moreover, the campaign is message for the World Food Day encouraging us all to make a pledge to play our role in making food accessible to the underprivileged population.
Did you know that about 815 Million people are suffering from hunger in the world.
It’s always nice to see brands producing TVCs that have some moral lesson or leave a mark behind. Dastak cooking oil’s advertisement is one of them. Those who have food to eat and a place to sleep are truly blessed but what our youth lacks is empathy. We don’t pay attention to other’s plight because we think only we are troubled or are battling demons but we often forget that some people have it worse like those who can’t put food on their tables and have kids to feed. Its a sorry state of affairs but media is a strong tool and such TVC makes people ponder over what is truly important. We should try to save food and not leave behind anything on the plate as so much food goes to waste on parties, outings, and weddings which could have easily filled stomachs of many less fortunate people. Kudos to Dastak cooking Oil’s marketing team for coming up with something so meaningful.
