The school arranged a fascinating program for around 3,000 students at its premises
Islamabad – 18th November18, 2016:Keeping up with the spirit of Universal Children’s Day, the Dawood Public School (DPS) organised a colourful program for children of all ages. The program aimed to bring children from all backgrounds to play and work together creating a sense of equality and harmony amongst them. It was an effort by DPS to bring children closer to each other without social discrimination and allow children to enjoy being themselves.
The event featured around 3,000 students from different schools who were engaged in thrilling activities. Students from Dawood Public School, Rahat-e-Islamia School (adopted by The Dawood Foundation) participated along with students from public schools including Khatoon-e-Pakistan School, differently-abled children and street children.
The program started with a routine assembly followed by a speech fromMs. MahvashRoshani, Principal,DPS, who highlighted the importance of the day. Flanked by her teachers, staff and students, she encouraged all the participants to promote togetherness and wellbeing among children.
The participants were amazed to watch a delightfulmagic show in which themagician performed different tricks and illusions.The teachers also celebrated creativity of art with chalk activities, enabling youngsters to embrace positive influences that help shape their world while adding to the quality of life in community. Indoor games such as LEGO were also organized for the children to augment their enthusiasm.I Know My Toys – a leading toy storealso contributed at the event by gifting toys to the children.
The entire event was made possible through the unwavering efforts of teachers, supporting staff and students of DPS. While commenting on their efforts, Sabrina Dawood, Chief Executive Officer, TDF said: “We believe that fostering compassionate action is vital to the children’s wellbeing. Through this celebration, our teachers and staff have dedicatedly inculcatedempathy amongst children and inspired them to become better human beings.”
Parents came in to support children from various background to set an example for the younger generation. Each parent, teacher and staff member enthusiastically volunteered to make the occasion more successful and also made monetary contributions.
