There is no way to sum up, the passion, the craze, the madness, and the sheer brilliance of a show like Deewangi. The romance drama will air its last episode this week and what a dream run it has been. Right from the very first episode, the show managed to build a viewership that is unheard of. Fans eagerly sat in front of their screens every Wednesday to watch the latest episode, which garnered skyrocketing ratings for the show. This frenzy didn’t stop there. The show has millions of views on each one of its episodes on Geo TV’s YouTube channel.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that Deewangi was a labor of love of the talented Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi. The creative geniuses behind 7th Sky Entertainment left no stone unturned in making the show such a phenomenal success. They remained involved in every aspect of the show, right from production to promotions and marketing. The show has the trademark 7th Sky flare that is evident in the production value, design, and story. The ace producers played another masterstroke with the show’s casting, which is the second most crucial factor of a creative project after a compelling story and production team.
Danish Taimoor as Sultan Durrani
Danish Taimoor as Sultan Durrani is a scene-stealer. He breathes life and lights up every frame with his presence. His character had grey shades; he is a shrewd, powerful businessman who knows how to have his way. Not one to take no for an answer, the romantic aspect of Sultan’s personality was on full display when he pursued Nageen. He was equally convincing as the bad guy when he took revenge on Nageen and did everything he could to ruin her marriage with Haroon.
Hiba Bukhari as Nageen Faiyyaz
Hiba Bukhari, as Nageen Faiyyaz went toe to toe with Danish on every step of the way. Despite only being in the industry for a few years, Hiba held her own in every scene she was in. She was convincing as a small-town girl with a can-do attitude despite everything going against her. She was strong, independent, and was always ready to face life’s challenges with courage. She was a woman who valued her integrity and self-respect above everything else.
All the other supporting actors play their part well and add to the narrative. The direction remained flawless, and the acting stayed first-rate throughout the show’s run. The show was also appreciated for its dialogues, locations, and authenticity towards every character and their surroundings.
