Rupee rebounds against dollar on positive IMF news

The Pakistan rupee on Wednesday took a big jump of Rs 9.59 against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 228.79 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 238.38.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs 228 and Rs 231 respectively.

The price of Euro decreased by Rs 6.93 and closed at Rs 233.07 against the last day’s closing of Rs 244.00.

The Japanese Yen lost 11 paisa to close at Rs 1.71, whereas a decrease of Rs 11.95 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs 278.77 as compared to its last closing of Rs 290.72.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by Rs 2.59 each to close at Rs 62.29 and Rs 60.86 respectively.
