World’s leading social networking platforms, Facebook and Instagram, went blank as on today Tuesday, 27th Jan 2015 . It is said that the sites are down not just in a specific region but all over the world.
Attempts to access Facebook brought up an error message telling users that “something went wrong” and the problem would be fixed as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Facebook owned Instagram went to a blank page on a desktop computer with the mobile application failing to load any new data.
This outage is seen on both Web and mobile apps of Facebook and Instagram.
It’s not clear yet what is the main reason behind the outage. However, Facebook owned mobile messaging service WhatsApp is running fine as usual.
The last instance of Facebook going down was back in September, when the social network went down twice that month.
