Sarmad Khoosat’s upcoming film has been cleared to release in Pakistan. He himself announced a few months ago that two of his films were in the process of being released and it is now confirmed that one of them titled “Zindagi Tamasha” is all set for a release.
His last film Manto also garnered much critical and popular acclaim.

Sarmad has produced this movie with his sister Kanwal Khoosat and it is being said that the flick will be a bilingual shot in the city of beautiful architecture, Lahore. It is written by Nirmal Bano and features Eman Suleman, Samiya Mumtaz, Arif Hasan in important roles. The music is composed by the band Saakin that has recently won an LSA in the category of best-emerging talent.

As usual, we expect a story that is thought-provoking yet entertaining. The trailer of the movie gave us goosebumps and is a story that is very different than the usual stories that we get to see in the Pakistani Cinema. It paints a grim picture of all that is wrong with our society, especially in the lower middle class. According to the film’s official synopsis, It is an intimate story of a family and how we are often scorched by the self-appointed moral police that makes life a living hell.
The trailer narrates the story of Rahat who is a naat khwuan and enjoys celebrity status in the community but one day a video goes viral of him and everyone turns against him. So much so that even his own daughter is ashamed of him. He is taunted and cursed by those who once were his devotees.
The question is, how Khoosat has taken the story forward. Do people forgive this Naat Khuwan or will his story be a dark tale that will make us think about a community as a whole?
