If you were to draw up a list of the most popular motorcycles sold in Pakistan, Honda CG125 2022 would easily feature on it. After all, it brings genuinely accessible, sporty performance to the masses. In fact, their previous models have been so popular that the world sits up and takes notice each time a new version rolls out which is why we wanted to see what Atlas Honda has come up with the new Honda CG125 (2021) version. The USP of the new and improved model offers a powerful engine and a powerful sound.
Before we review in detail, check out the stunning TVC:-
Honda CG125 2022: Design and Features
Walking up to the motorcycle, it is apparent that the new CG125 looks even better than what the TVC suggest. The front end looks sharp and aggressive. Honda gives the kick start CG125, a 1204 mm wheelbase, which is what gives it that long, low cruiser stance. Thankfully, the ground clearance is very decent 132mm. The power cruiser features a beefy fuel tank with a capacity of 9.2 Liters (reserve: 2 Liters). Its dry weight is 100 Kg. The positive side of the benchmarking is that the brand has picked a motorcycle that’s become a bit of a modern style icon. That being said, it’s not a complete carbon copy of the previous models. Honda has added in a few of its design elements, like stickers, the gasoline tank and the taillights and some of these are quite quirky.
Honda CG125 2022: Engine and Performance
The 4-Stroke OHV Air-Cooled engine produces close to 10 horsepower and 9.5 Nm of torque. It is undoubtedly one of the best capacity motorcycle engines out there. The performance 56.5 x 49.5 mm offered by bore and stroke is decent. The 4-speed constant mesh transmission gives you that extra top-end performance on the open road. With the performance and rideability on offer, I think the brand truly offers the best of both worlds.
Honda CG125: Riding Position
Swing a leg over the bike and you immediately get the feeling of being seated on a powerful machine. The suspension front with Telescopic Fork 103 mm Travel and Swing Arm 68 mm Travel are what contribute to the effect. The tire range at the front (2.50 – 18 (4 PR) and back 3.00 – 17 (6 PR) are wide enough that you’ll have to be careful about knocking someone’s rearview mirror while filtering through traffic.
Honda CG125: Should You Buy One
The Honda CG125 comes across as a well-rounded motorcycle that offers a unique flavour in just Rs.147,500/-. It’s relatively easy to ride, fairly practical on our roads and it’s more fun than you might expect. At present, it faces no direct competition, if the company can ensure long-term reliability and good after-sales support, this bike has the potential to do quite well for them.
