An infant girl suffered severe burns due to overheating in an incubator at the Gangaram Hospital Incident in Lahore, as reported by ARY News.
Details reveal that the baby was placed in an incubator that malfunctioned, causing the temperature to rise and resulting in burns on her body. The incident occurred due to alleged negligence by hospital staff.
The baby’s father, Rafaqat Ali, expressed frustration over the staff’s response. He claimed the staff was uncooperative and even rude. When he questioned them, and they eventually expelled him from the nursery.
Ali has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, asking for justice and an investigation into the matter. He demands accountability for those responsible for the negligence.
This incident echoes a similar tragedy in 2023. When an infant died from burns caused by overheating in an incubator at Lahore’s Children’s Hospital. In that case, negligence from medical staff was also blamed.
After that incident, Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the hospital and directed an investigation. A four-member committee was formed to determine the cause of the incident.
