Alif is the new drama that has just started airing on Geo TV. It was much hyped because of its new take on love and exceptional star cast. We get to see Hamza Ali Abbassi, Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan and Ahsan Khan all in one show. Now, who wouldn’t want to watch it? The producers created a lot of mystery around the theme of the show and ofcourse we were intrigued. So we watched the first episode of Alif to see if the director remained successful in creating interest of the audience in the new show or is it just fades away in the blur of shows and here is what we think.
The First Episode
So, let us be honest here. The show did an exceptional job of introducing the main characters. Every character got their fair share of screen time and we are amazed at the attention given to the details. Every scene was fitting and relevant. Momina (Sajal Aly) is portrayed as a hardworking girl who provides for her family. She comes from a cinematic background and is trying to fit into the industry like her parents who are now retired. Qalb e Momin (Hamza Ali Abbassi) is shown as a successful director who knows what he wants and how to achieve it. He has worked hard to get where he stands and as any human being alive has his share of baggage to deal with. We are also introduced to the character of Yashma Gill who was a love interest of Qalb e Momin. We particularly were intrigued by the charter of Kubra Khan (Husn e Jahan) and her relation to Qalb e Momin.
The Verdict
So yes the show was absolutely phenomenal and totally worth following. It has us hooked and we can’t wait for the second episode to drop. The first episode promises a strong story and an interesting script. All in all the entire episode was a visual treat.
