The Capital Development Authority (CDA) chief, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has instructed officials to begin preparing the PC-1 for a cable car and chairlift project from Daman-e-Koh to Saidpur.
This initiative aims to enhance tourism and contribute to Islamabad’s economic growth through revenue generated by the project.
In a meeting with a Chinese consultant delegation and CDA officials from Planning, Finance, and Environment departments, Randhawa emphasized that the cable car and chairlift would be key attractions for boosting tourism in the capital.
He also affirmed that the project’s revenues would be reinvested in the city’s development.
Randhawa stressed the importance of quickly completing feasibility studies for both systems and ensuring safety through thorough reviews.
He called for careful preparation of the PC-1 and emphasized methodical planning to ensure the project’s success. The Chinese consultants praised Randhawa’s tourism initiative and offered technical assistance.
In terms of sector development, Randhawa prioritized the completion of infrastructure in Sector C-14 by June, with IESCO providing electricity. He announced that plot possession in C-14 would be granted before the final payment.
Additionally, he emphasized fast-tracking development in Sector E-12 and other new sectors after Eidul Fitr, ensuring prompt resolution of any obstacles.
For Sector I-12, Randhawa ordered an immediate cleanup of the central area and the completion of ongoing projects. Progress in Sectors C-15 and C-16 was also reviewed, with Randhawa committing to personally visit the sites to address any issues.
