Lahore Qalandars: Is The name Jinxed? As most of you would know that Lahore Qalandars is one of the PSL teams. With the ongoing PSL fever and most teams fighting tooth and nail to reach the finals, we have a peculiar case of LQs. LQ fans go through seven stages of grief every season but we still hope. Alas! Each year our players disappoint us even more. If there is a team that has consecutively suffered many losses, its Yes, you guess it right, Lahore Qalandars. They say that some names are jinxed or as we Muslims say Naam bhari hai. I think LQ is also a really heavy name for this team and should be changed just in case. So here are some reasons I could think of that remain a factor in LQ’s failures.
Too little Preparation
Lahore Qalandars as the name suggests is a team from Lahore. Lahoris are very possessive of their things and are very lively people. They have lots of expectations and that’s what is wrong with this team. Millions of expectations and less preparation. We see players that are not in their best shapes and could do with a little more training.
Too Much Media’s Attention
The media gives extra attention to Lahore Qalandars. A lot of actors actresses come out in support of it as Lahore is one of the biggest cities in Pakistan. So I think this attention gets to the players’ heads. They don’t sweat enough on the field. They keep forgetting that in cricket or for that matter in any sport you have to perform exceptionally well for people to keep loving you.
Batsmen Who Can’t Play Spin Ball
Not many batsmen can face good spin balls. Lahore Qalandar is also on a major drawback here. They do not have batsmen who can hold the pitch against the spin ballers. They hardly hold their wicket which ultimately turns into a loss for Lahore.
Irrespective of everything. I still believe that Lahore Qalandars could be the game-changers. They have so much potential, but they can’t seem to make proper use of it. Here is to hoping that the rest of the season goes a little better for Lahoris.
