Legendary comedian Omer Sharif passed away in Germany earlier today after a prolonged illness. May Allah bless his soul. Big big loss not only for Pakistan but also for the world of entertainment. The person who has been spreading happiness on the face of humanity all his life, passed away today after suffering a lot.
Pakistan’s ambassador to Germany, Dr Mohammad Faisal, also confirmed the news of Sharif’s demise:-
“With deep sorrow it is announced that Mr Umer Sharif has passed away in Germany,” he tweeted. “Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Our CG is present at the hospital to assist the family in every way.”

Last week he was granted USA visa for his medical treatment in US. He suffered fatal Pneumonia attack when was being carried in an Air Ambulance to USA but his health was so poor that the ambulance had to stay in Germany for his dialysis & treatment.
Starting his career at the age of 14, Umer Sharif was a legendary comedian, actor, director, and producer of Pakistan’s showbiz industry. Moreover he is said to to be one of the greatest comedian of subcontinent. Umer Sharif’s Bakra Qistoon Pe and Buddha Ghar Pe Hai top the list of his most loved shows.
Mohammad Umer, known professionally as Umer Shareef was born April 19, 1955. He was a Pakistani actor, comedian, director, producer and television personality. He was regarded as one of the greatest comedians in the sub-continent.
In 1974, Umer started his career in Karachi as a stage performer at the age of 14. He joined theater, using the stage name Umer Zarif but later renamed that to Umer Sharif. Some of his extremely popular comedy stage plays were 1989’s Bakra Qistoon Pe and Buddha Ghar Pe Ha.
Sharif has received National awards for Best Director and Best Actor in 1992 for Mr. 420. He has received ten Nigar Awards. Sharif is the only actor to receive four Nigar Awards in a single year. He received three Graduate Awards. Sharif is also a recipient of Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
