Tragic – this guy was a hero of mine…….I wasn’t the most talented of footballers, and always played left midfield, and my Dad always used to tell me “let ’em play pretty, and dance around, but if they get the ball past you, don’t let them follow it…..think of Norman Hunter…..”……..the best, hardest, most brutal (but would pick you up with a smile, after taking your legs away….) – a true, honest, genuine man………..who showed a lot of young kids what the game was REALLY about !!
Norman Hunter was a Leeds legend and a very maligned player who was vastly underrated as a footballer and as a leader on the pitch. May his soul he rest in peace.
