Pakistan Team’s Dinner Hosted By Matthew Hayden
Pakistan cricket team is currently in Brisbane to play warm-up matches prior to their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 opening match against arch-rivals India on October 23 in Melbourne. Matthew Haydon, who coached Pakistan team during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in UAE and Oman for a short stint, has been re-assigned to serve as batting coach in Australia as well.
The Queenslander Matthew Haydon, besides being an accomplished batter, is an excellent cook who prepared meals for his team-mates on tours during his playing days. Two collections of recipes of the keen cook have been published so far.
In a video released by the PCB, the Pakistani cricketers can be seen enjoying BBQ at the sprawling lawns of Hayden’s Brisbane residence.
While welcoming the Pakistan team at his residence, Hayden along side his wife Kellie spoke of the uniting force of the game of cricket which starts with brotherhood, it extends to families, and then the countries, adding that this is cricket in a nutshell.
‘I feel very very special today at the Hayden household to welcome you all’, he said to the guests from Pakistan cricket team including former Indian great Sunil Gavaskar.
Hayden said welcoming you to our house is welcoming to our hearts while he also fondly remembered the days spent in Pakistan as batting coach.
Sunil Gavaskar gave a special cap with his autograph to Babar Azam as a birthday gift. The ODI top ranked batter Babar Azam celebrated his 28th birthday on October 15.
