Media and the public say many things defaming people and places. It has become the new norm and is popularly known as trolling. The trolls DONT REALLY CARE if the things they are saying are true or not and neither do they have any proper sources. In most cases, this goes unreplied because who has time to defend others. Something like this happened a few days ago but with a twist and here are the deets!
What Actually Happened?
Tarek Fateh a Pakistani Canadian columnist is one of the biggest trolls you ‘ll ever come across. Like the people who hide behind their sarcastic and crude humor and, not the Chandler Bing type! This self-proclaimed comedian tried to pass a joke at Pakistan by posting a clip from the movie “Load Wedding” explaining how the people are against polio vaccination slandering the country’s reputation.
At the time of posting Fateh didn’t know that the clip was from a movie. In the clip, Mehwish Hayat and another actress are shown as health workers who reach a house where the mother did not want to get her children vaccinated saying the drops are harmful. The film was trying to create awareness about the issue, none of which Fateh tried to check before trying to Malign an entire country.
However, Mehwish Hayat is not one of those who let a thing slip. She took to twitter tagging the comedian and letting him know that this was a clip from her movie Load Wedding and she was glad that her acting was so convincing that Fateh did not even feel like confirming his sources. The columnist has not yet said anything but he deleted his post soon afterward which is almost a confession of guilt.
Mehwish Hayat has been a badass and has been representing Pakistan in a positive light all over the world. She does a lot of social work and recently also visited NewZealand to represent Pakistan. She takes a stand when any political issue arises and doesn’t shy away from putting her opinions forward. Two thumbs up for Pakistan’s own Wonder Woman!
