Pakistan, Friday 29th July’16]: Pakistani band Mizmaar and the legendary Indian classical singer Shubha Mudgal’s collaboration single Jogi has finally been released. The single touches upon the frenzy and unrest the world has lately been experiencing. The song is both emotional and painful.
Soul searching is a turbulent journey. Jogi pulls listeners into a world where one’s identity is lost, the soul trying hard to find peace and its true purpose. The prelude sung by Shubha Mudgal Jee is deep enough to set the right mood for the rest of the song. Asad Rasheed, Mizmaar’s new vocalist, then joins in and adds his own touch with his powerful semi-classical vocals. The musical styles of Mizmaar and Shubha Jee create a beautiful fusion of sound through which the band aims to reach a wider audience worldwide.
Mizmaar hopes to evoke a sense of deep awakening through Jogi, and also to ensure that the message they are trying to send out will be echoing in listeners’ minds for a long time to come.
Sharing her experience of working with Mizmaar, Shubha Mudgal Jee says, “Thank you Mizmaar for inviting me to collaborate on their new track Jogi. While it was not possible for me to travel to Pakistan and to record the track with Mizmaar, I was very happy to be able to collaborate thanks to the power of technology and communication that made it possible for us to really speak to each other over the net and record this new track which I hope music lovers across the world will like.”
Tune in to FM91 to hear the track exclusively this whole week.
