In the first half of the fiscal year 2023-24, Pakistan experienced a notable 13.70% decline in the sale of motorbikes and three-wheelers compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA). From July to December 2023, a total of 541,821 units were sold, contrasting with 627,835 units sold in the corresponding months of the previous fiscal year (2022-23).
Breaking down the figures, Honda motorcycles saw a 10.01% decrease in sales, dropping from 522,770 units to 470,399 units. Suzuki motorcycles faced a more significant decline of 64.42%, going from 20,762 units to 7,386 units during the review period.
Yamaha motorbikes also experienced a decrease in sales, moving from 6,823 units to 4,583 units, and Road Prince motorbikes faced a substantial 53.38% drop from 17,336 units to 8,082 units.
The sales of United Auto motorcycles witnessed a decrease of 16.25%, declining from 50,384 units to 42,196 units.
On a positive note, United Auto three-wheelers saw a significant surge, growing from 770 units to 1,097 units, reflecting a remarkable 42.46% increase. Similarly, Sazgar three-wheelers witnessed a notable rise of 27.40%, climbing from 3,868 units to 4,928 units.
However, Qingqi three-wheeler sales showed a decline of 28.64%, dropping from 3,481 units to 2,484 units.
