Murree, a popular winter destination, has declared a snow emergency as the much-awaited snowfall season begins. Spanning from December 2, 2024, to March 15, 2025, this period promises mesmerizing snowy landscapes, but the authorities are leaving no stone unturned to ensure safety and convenience for all.

Proactive Safety and Traffic Measures

Understanding the influx of tourists during this season, the administration has established 19 emergency check posts across key locations. These posts, supported by extra personnel, aim to handle emergencies efficiently. Traffic management has been significantly strengthened, with strict monitoring implemented at entry points such as the Islamabad and GT Road toll plazas to regulate the flow of vehicles.

To combat challenges posed by heavy snowfall, special snow-clearing vehicles and ample salt supplies are ready to keep roads navigable. Additionally, 50 extra traffic officers have been deployed to address any potential disruptions and ensure smooth movement throughout the area.
