Another private airline, Q-Airlines, is set to commence its commercial operations with domestic flights in Pakistan. The new airline is owned by Ramada Hotels Group, and is all set to commence its domestic operations with a fleet of three Airbus-320 aircraft.
As per news reports federal cabinet will give approval of the regular public transport (RPT) license for the airline on January 25. Following this, the private airline will commence its flight operations within next three-four months. New Pakistani airline Q-Airlines intends to start flight operations initially with three Airbus A320 aircraft on domestic route flights to & from Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.Airline’s RPT license approval expected on January 25.
In the first phase, Q-Airlines will operate flights between Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. After the RPT license, Q-Airlines will become fourth operational private airline in the country.
Three new airlines have sought regulatory approval from Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to launch operations.
The scrutiny of two airlines – Q-Airlines and Fly Jinnah – has been completed while Jet Green Airlines is still going through the process.
Following the completion of scrutiny, the applications would be sent to Aviation Division and then to the federal cabinet for final approvals. Following the approvals of the three carrier, this will take the number of private carriers operating in the country to six, catering 217 million population.
Airblue, SereneAir and AirSial are the three airlines already operating in the country. National carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is the largest and oldest carrier in the country.
