It’s that exciting time of the year when we eagerly anticipate the unveiling of the prestigious Oscar Nominations. The Academy Awards, affectionately known as the Oscars, recognize outstanding achievements in both artistic and technical aspects of the film industry. Mark your calendars for the upcoming Oscars Ceremony, scheduled for March 11, 2024.
This year’s nominations for the 96th Oscars were unveiled on January 23, during a live presentation hosted by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid. The list of nominees brought some unexpected twists and turns, adding to the anticipation for the awards night.
Leading the pack with an impressive 13 nominations is “Oppenheimer,” followed closely by “Poor Things” with 11 nominations and “Killers of the Flower Moon” with 10 nominations. The much-talked-about Barbie movie secured eight nominations, although its lead star Margot Robbie and director Greta Gerwig were notably absent from some major categories. However, America Ferrera, Barbie’s co-star, managed to secure a surprise supporting actress nomination.
In another surprising turn of events, Leonardo DiCaprio did not make it to the Best Actor category for his role in “Killers of the Flower Moon.”
The winners of the 96th Oscars will be announced on Sunday, March 10, 2024, during a ceremony hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and broadcasted on ABC.
