‘Baddua’ is like a glass of chilled pina colada on a hot summer day. The captivating play perfectly captures this acutely observed story of a selfish girl Abeer (Amar Khan) who goes out to any length to get what she wants in life. A family affair that not just revolves around the hero and heroine but also highlights the nuances of the characters within a joint family system. This is one of writer Samina Ejaz’s mature and competitive screenplays with a complete understanding of the raw and relatable depiction of the human condition.

Splendid Saturday with Qissa Meherbano Ka
Director: Iqbal Hussain
Writer: Fakhra Jabeen
Production: Momina Duraid
Cast: Ahsan Khan, Mawra Hocance, Mashal Khan, Zaviyar Nauman Ejaz and Muhammad Ahmed
‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’ is gripping and enjoyable due to its sparkling script, dramatic dialogues, skillful directions, and fresh casting. A story of a girl who marries for the sake of family relations is forced to be in the marriage without her husband. There are a lot of elements that make ‘Qissa Meherbano Ka’ a compelling watch. The story is well written and the drama also sheds light on misogyny; how people who appear to be nice and kind are hiding horrible natures. Director Iqbal Hussain gets it right; it would be foolhardy to single out a few sequences since the play gathers speed from its inception itself. Fabulous performances by Mawra Hocane and Ahsan Khan make this serial stand out from the crowd.
