Pakistanis can now apply for five-year visas following the resolution of previous issues. UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi, confirmed this news on Tuesday. This announcement allows Pakistanis to enjoy multiple-entry tourist visas for five years, which means they can visit the UAE several times without needing a guarantor or host in the country.
This positive development emerged after a meeting between Ambassador Zaabi and Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at the Governor’s House. During the meeting, Zaabi confirmed that visa issues have been resolved, making it easier for Pakistanis to obtain the five-year visa. He also invited Governor Tessori to visit the visa center at the Karachi consulate.
Governor Tessori expressed gratitude towards the UAE for investing in Sindh, especially in Karachi. The ambassador acknowledged ongoing projects under the governor’s leadership, praising the initiatives.
Reports suggest that the UAE had previously tightened scrutiny of Pakistani travelers due to concerns about criminal activities and begging. In December, a Senate panel revealed that all Pakistani travelers to the UAE would undergo police vetting and verification. Travel agents were also instructed to comply with these regulations.
A meeting on January 9 discussed the lack of restrictions on work visas for Pakistanis. The government had raised concerns over the misuse of tourist visas, with some Pakistanis resorting to begging. Additionally, Dr. Bakheet Ateeq Alremeithi, Consul General of UAE in Karachi, mentioned that some Pakistani social media influencers had faced visa rejections due to negative activities on platforms like TikTok. However, he clarified that there was no official ban on Pakistan UAE visa.
