He threw a 55.26 metres throw in his fifth attempt out of the total six he made to score the best distance.

Who is Haider Ali?
Hails from Gujranwala, He is an all-around Pakistani para-athlete who created history at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China by winning the country’s first ever Paralympic games medal, a silver. He also shared a new world record with his jump of 6.44 meters at the Games.

He sure deserves applaud and has taken social media by a storm with congratulatory messages making it to the top twitter trends.
He told The Express Tribune before his event: “The training was very disturbed. It was disturbed because the facilities where we can train were closed because of Covid-19 pandemic, and we missed out on the days to train. Those were crucial days.” “There were lots of challenges in training, but we kept going because we had to prepare for Tokyo.”
