The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sent a legal notice to South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch for breaching his contract. Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL 2025 draft, but he later withdrew and signed with Mumbai Indians (MI) for IPL 2025. The PCB is now demanding an explanation for his actions.
For the first time, PSL and IPL will run simultaneously. The IPL runs from March 22 to May 25, while the PSL takes place from April 11 to May 18. Peshawar Zalmi selects Bosch in the diamond category during the PSL draft in January. However, on March 8, Mumbai Indians announced him as a replacement for injured Lizaad Williams.
The PCB states that it sent the legal notice through Bosch’s agent. It asks him to justify his withdrawal from the PSL and explain why he failed to honor his contractual obligations. The board also warns him about the consequences of his actions. However, it has not disclosed the exact deadline for his response.

PSL franchises are concerned about this situation, as it could set a risky precedent. If more players start choosing IPL over PSL after signing contracts, it could weaken the league’s reputation. Some PSL officials have even discussed imposing bans on players who pull out after signing deals.
To attract more overseas players, the PCB now schedules the PSL to avoid clashes with SA20, ILT20, and BPL. Officials discuss the PSL draft timing after the IPL auction to ensure better player availability. The IPL auction takes place in November 2024, and the PCB conducts the PSL draft in January 2025.
Despite these efforts, the PSL still managed to sign top players like David Warner, Daryl Mitchell, Jason Holder, Rassie van der Dussen, and Kane Williamson. However, Bosch’s sudden withdrawal has raised concerns about players honoring their PSL commitments.
The PCB is now waiting for Bosch’s response, and further action will depend on his reply.
