In a recent move, the federal government has announced a significant reduction in petrol prices, bringing relief to consumers across Pakistan. Effective immediately, the price of petrol has been lowered by Rs 5.45 per liter, making it available at Rs 288.49 compared to its previous price of Rs 293.94 per liter.
Alongside this, the price of high-speed diesel has also been reduced by Rs 8.42 per liter, dropping from Rs 290.38 to Rs 281.96 per liter. This decision comes as a result of a declining trend in international petroleum prices over the last fortnight, as highlighted in a statement issued by the finance ministry.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has adjusted the consumer prices based on fluctuations in the global market. This move is expected to ease the burden on consumers and provide much-needed relief amidst rising living costs.
With these adjustments, the government aims to ensure affordability and accessibility of essential commodities for the citizens of Pakistan. This reduction in fuel prices is likely to have a positive impact on various sectors of the economy, including transportation and manufacturing.
The reduction in petrol prices by Rs 5.45 per liter reflects the government’s commitment to providing economic relief to its citizens. As international market trends continue to fluctuate, the government remains vigilant in monitoring and adjusting prices to benefit consumers and stimulate economic growth.
