The Minister of State for Finance and Revenue informed the National Assembly (NA) on Friday that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flights to Europe are anticipated to be restored in the near future.
Addressing a calling attention notice regarding the ban on PIA flights by the UK and the European Union, the minister stated, “A detailed action plan from Pakistan has been dispatched to the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the verification process is currently underway.”
He further elaborated, “We hope that the verification process will be completed within two to three months and flights to Europe will be restored.”
In a positive development, the minister highlighted that the European Commission Air Safety Committee delisted Pakistan from its concern list on May 14. This milestone marks a significant step towards the resumption of PIA flights to Europe, offering hope for renewed connectivity and convenience for travelers.
The restoration of PIA flights to Europe will not only enhance travel options for Pakistani citizens but also strengthen economic ties between Pakistan and European countries. The resumption of these flights is eagerly awaited by both passengers and the aviation industry.
