Pink Ribbon Pakistan, the leading charity organization for the support of breast cancer patients, organized their launch event ‘PINKtober’ at a local restaurant in Lahore.
PINKtober is a breast cancer awareness month which aims at disseminating information regarding breast cancer detection and treatment. The event was attended by people from all walks of life and they showed solidarity with Pink Ribbon.
Mr. Omer Aftab, the CEO of Pink Ribbon Pakistan, was also present at the event. While addressing the gathering, he said, “Pink Ribbon Pakistan is empowering young girls with the knowledge and techniques to detect breast cancer at early stages.”
He further added, “Pink Ribbon is commemorating this PINKtober with #SaveThe9th theme that is a pledge to support the greater cause of building Pakistan’s first dedicated breast cancer hospital to save every 9th Pakistani woman who is at high risk of breast cancer.”
Pink Ribbon’s #SaveThe9th campaign will include nationwide extensive Youth Program, pink illuminations, press conferences, a holistic digital drive and other ATL and BTL activities.
Breast cancer is more prevalent in Pakistan than all other Asian countries. Every year, around 40,000 women die of this disease and every 9th woman is at high risk. Pink Ribbon is building a dedicated Breast Cancer Hospital in Lahore to provide one-stop breast cancer management solution to the patients and potential victims.
