Strong Monsoon Currents Expected
Strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are expected to penetrate the upper parts of Pakistan starting from July 22. Under the influence of this weather system, the following areas can expect rain-wind/thundershowers with occasional heavy falls:
- July 22-25:
- Punjab: Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Tala Gang, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Bhakkar, and Mianwali.
- July 23-24:
- Southern Punjab: Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah.
- Sindh: Mithi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana, and Dadu.
Kashmir and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Forecast
- Kashmir: From the evening of July 21 to July 27, rain-wind/thundershowers with occasional heavy falls are expected in Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, and Mirpur.
- Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: From the evening of July 22 to July 24, rain-wind/thundershowers with occasional heavy falls are expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Mohmand, Khyber, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Swabi, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Hangu, Kurram, Orakzai, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, and Dera Ismail Khan.
Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan
- Balochistan: Hot and humid weather is expected in most districts, with rain-wind/thundershowers in the north/eastern parts, including Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbela, Awaran, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musa Khel, Shirani, Kohlu, Harnai, Naseerabad, and Jaffarabad on July 23 and July 24.
- Gilgit-Baltistan: Partly cloudy to cloudy weather with rain in Diamir, Astore, Skardu, Gilgit, Ghanche, and Shigar from July 22 to July 27.

- Flash Flooding: Heavy falls may cause flash flooding in local nullahs/streams in Murree, Galliyat, Mansehra, Kohistan, Malakand, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Kurrum, Orakzai, Khyber, Mohmand, Nowshera, Swabi, and Kashmir on July 23 and 24.
- Urban Flooding: Heavy falls may lead to urban flooding in low-lying areas of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on July 23 and 24.
- Landslides: Landslides may disrupt roads in hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
- Structural Damage: Heavy downpours, windstorms, and lightning may affect daily routines, and weak structures such as roofs, walls, electric poles, billboards, vehicles, and solar panels.
