In a significant move, PSL will soon operate as a separate company. The decision was made during a recent Governing Council meeting. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi presided over the meeting, which lasted just 23 minutes. Franchise owners and representatives joined the discussion via video call, while PCB officials remained in their offices.
The announcement of PSL becoming a separate entity comes as a response to a long-standing demand. This change is expected to improve operational efficiency and streamline the management of the league.
Exhibition Match in Peshawar
An exhibition match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators will be held in Peshawar on April 8. This match will provide local fans with the opportunity to see their favorite players in action. Plans are also in place to host more PSL matches in Peshawar in future seasons. Security clearance and event planning are expected to be finalized by the weekend.
After the 10th season concludes, current franchise agreements will expire. Before renewing them, an evaluation will take place to decide on any potential increase in franchise fees. A company will soon be hired for this evaluation, which will also determine the potential price of two new teams for the 11th season. The hired company will be given six weeks to complete the process.
The anthem for PSL 10 is nearing completion. Additionally, the quality of TV production will be prioritized, with the production company instructed to treat the league like an international event. This will ensure that fans watching from home have the best possible experience.
