The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Friday, losing 480.44 points, a negative change of 1.18 percent, closing at 40,323.45 against 40,803.89 points the previous day.
A total of 173,264,646 shares were traded during the day as compared to 175,412,767 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 4.628 billion against Rs 5.891 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 324 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; 81 of them recorded gains and 218 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 25 companies remained unchanged.
The three top-trading companies were Hascol Petrol with 25,154,500 shares at Rs 6.62 per share, WorldCall Telecom with 21,409,944 shares at Rs 1.14 per share, and Pak Petroleum with 12,902,307 shares at Rs 76.11 per share.
Thal Ind. Corp witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 16.66 per share price, closing at Rs 238.91, whereas the runner-up was Suraj Cotton with a Rs 10.71 rise in its per share price to Rs 153.90.
Rafhan Maize witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs 511.03 per share closing at Rs 8,410.00, followed by Nestle Pakistan with Rs 200.00 decline to close at Rs 5650.00.
