Internet services have been restored across Pakistan, according to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). This follows a nearly 24-hour disruption that began on Wednesday, affecting Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) internet services nationwide.
The sudden interruption left many without internet access, causing significant inconvenience across the country. PTA confirmed the restoration of services, stating, “Internet services provided by Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) have been fully restored across Pakistan following a nearly 24-hour disruption.”
In a statement issued on X (formerly Twitter), PTA announced, “It is notified that the internet/broadband is now available across Pakistan.” However, the exact cause of the disruption remains unclear. PTA mentioned, “The exact issue is being investigated by PTA.”
The disruption affected various cities for almost an entire day, causing widespread connectivity issues. A PTCL spokesperson addressed the situation, saying, “Currently, the PTCL network is facing data outage in various cities due to which connectivity has been affected.”
Efforts to resolve the issue were immediate, with PTCL teams working diligently to restore services. “Our teams are actively working to resolve and rectify the issue at the earliest,” the spokesperson added.
The restoration of internet services has brought relief to users across Pakistan, although the root cause of the disruption is still under investigation.
