Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Ramiz Raja met Pakistan cricket team and buoyed them up prior to the final match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 against England in Melbourne on Sunday.
In a video, released by the PCB on Friday, Ramiz Raja is seen sitting with the team and coaching staff and delivering a pep talk.
Ramiz Raja congratulated the team on an incredible fightback and comeback in the tournament due to unity among the team members. “Unity defines your performance and whatever be the circumstances, always give your 100 percent,” Ramiz exhorted the team.
Pakistan Cricket team is due to play against England in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on November 13 (Sunday) which is almost replica of the ODI World Cup 1992 finals, which involved the same team at the same venue some 30 years back.
Hailing the coaching staff, he said: “You have given a lot to cheer to the fans in Pakistan, and a unified dressing-room owes a lot to you.”
Ramiz Raja, who was part of the ODI World Cup winning team – led by Imran Khan – at the same venue in 1992, recollected the former skipper’s words who had said: ‘This will not happen in your lives again, that is why go out and enjoy the moment.”
He advised the Babar-led team not to be bowed down by the critical analysis, as sometimes bashing may hamper performance, and inspired them be ready for the moment and grasp the opportunity with both hands.
The former captain wished the team good-luck in the final against England.
