Sajjad Ali Releases New Video Nakhun

[Tuesday, 29^th March’16]: Pakistani musician Sajjad Ali’s singles are always highly anticipated. Throughout his career, the legendary singer has delivered numerous hit songs which are still widely remembered. On 24^th March’16, Sajjad Ali surprised his fans by posting an unexpected video message on his official facebook page stating: “My new video is coming out, but I’m thinking let’s share the audio of the song with you today itself!”. A couple of hours later he posted the audio of his upcoming video #Nakhun. The music video was officially released on 27^th March’16.

Nakhun, which has been composed, written and produced by Sajjad himself, is a song about feeling and expressing helplessness in a relationship in which love seems to be slipping away. The music video has been directed by Zaw Ali and features supermodel Rabia Butt as Sajjad’s co-star. The bitter sweet relationship between both of them is evident from the first shot itself where Sajjad can be seen facing the window, while Rabia walks in the room and turns away after a while without saying a word. The dilemma of both these individuals has been captured through various shots, where they are clearly not sure whether they want to hold on to each other or let go. The video ends on a hopeful note hinting at the possibility of everything working out for both of them.

About Sajjad Ali

Sajjad Ali (born 24 August 1966) is a Pakistani semi-classical, pop and rock singer, poet, actor, director and producer from Lahore, Pakistan.

Sajjad’s first classical hit album, ‘Master Sajjad Sings Memorable Classics’ was released in 1979 by EMI-Pakistan. The musicians were Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali and Amanat Ali Khan, while most of the songs were written by Hasrat Mohani, Momin and others.

Sajjad made his television debut in a program, Aap Janab by Athar Shah Khan. After this, he appeared in Rung Barangi Duniya by musician Sohail Rana. He also performed in a program Rag Rung in 1980 at the age of 14, however on the 25th anniversary of PTV’s stage show, called Silver Jubilee by Shoaib Mansoor, Sajjad got real fame through the song, Banwari Chakori, originally sung by Noor Jehan. On 26 November 1983 during a show, Sajjad sung the songs, Lagi Ray Lagay Lagan Yehe Dil Mein and Bawari Chakuri.
