The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has confirmed the issuance of fresh notes for Eid-ul-Fitr 2025. This comes after reports falsely claimed that no new currency notes would be available for the upcoming festival.
In its official statement, SBP clarified that commercial banks will continue their tradition of distributing fresh notes for Eid 2025. The new notes will be available to the public through the nationwide branch network of commercial banks.
To prepare for this, SBP has already distributed Rs 27 billion worth of fresh notes across all denominations. These new notes have been sent to 17,000 commercial bank branches throughout the country during Ramadan 2025.
To ensure smooth access to fresh notes for Eid 2025, SBP has deployed cash monitoring teams. These teams will oversee the distribution process and make sure that fresh notes are available in the market. Additionally, banks have been instructed to ensure that their ATMs provide clean and quality notes during the festive period.
The central bank emphasized that all necessary measures are in place to ensure easy access to fresh notes for the public. SBP also reassured citizens that the process would be carried out smoothly and efficiently, making it convenient for everyone to get their hands on new currency notes.
