The Sindh teacher dress code has been rolled out by the Sindh Education Department. Introducing fresh guidelines for school teachers across the province. These rules aim to enhance professionalism in the classroom by setting clear expectations for both male and female teachers regarding their appearance and behaviour.
Female teachers have been advised to avoid heavy makeup and high heels while opting for traditional clothing with minimal accessories. Male teachers, on the other hand, are expected to refrain from casual attire like T-shirts and jeans. Aligning with the department’s push for a more formal teaching environment.
Beyond dress code, the department has implemented strict prohibitions on the consumption of substances. Such as gutka, naswar, mawa, narcotics, or cigarettes within school premises.
Teachers are also forbidden from assigning personal errands to students, maintaining a firm boundary between their personal and professional responsibilities.
In a separate move, the Sindh Education Department recently discovered 5,000 ghost teachers—individuals drawing salaries without performing their duties.
Following orders from Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah. These ghost employees are being removed from payroll, and disciplinary actions have been initiated.
To address the staffing gaps, the department plans to recruit teachers from the merit list to replace these ghost employees.
Last year, the department also took action by halting the salaries of over 1,000 teachers who were found absent from duty. Based on a report submitted by the Scrutiny Committee investigating absenteeism and ghost teachers in the province.
