Sindh Faces Critical Water Shortage as Major Dams Hit Dead Levels

Sindh is currently facing a severe water shortage, with both the Tarbela and Mangla dams reaching their dead levels, sparking serious concerns about the region’s irrigation needs as the Kharif crop season approaches. The ongoing water crisis could severely impact these crops, leading to financial hardships for farmers across Sindh.

As the situation continues to worsen, stakeholders are calling for urgent measures to manage water distribution. And reduce the negative effects on Sindh’s agricultural sector. With the Kharif season on the horizon, it is crucial that steps are taken to address the water shortage. This will support farmers in maintaining their livelihoods.
