NASA’s SpaceX Crew-10 mission is steadily approaching the International Space Station (ISS), with docking now scheduled for 12:07 a.m. EDT on Sunday, March 16. The live broadcast of this highly anticipated event will continue on NASA+ at 10:25 p.m. on Saturday as the spacecraft enters its final approach.
The Crew-10 team consists of NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, Japan’s JAXA astronaut Takuya Onishi, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov. Their mission will involve a long-duration stay aboard the ISS, contributing to a variety of scientific experiments and research initiatives that are vital for future space exploration.
SpaceX’s Dragon capsule, which is designed to dock autonomously, will connect to the forward-facing port of the station’s Harmony module. While the docking procedure is automated, both the crew aboard the Dragon and the current ISS crew will closely monitor the process to ensure a smooth and safe connection.
Once docked, the hatch is expected to open approximately one hour and 45 minutes later. At that point, the Crew-10 astronauts will join the current Expedition 72 crew on the ISS. This includes NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Don Petitt, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore, along with Roscosmos cosmonauts Aleksandr Gorbunov, Alexey Ovchinin, and Ivan Vagner.
With their arrival, the Crew-10 astronauts will be part of a diverse team of scientists and engineers working together to push the boundaries of what’s possible in space. Their research will play a key role in future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.
You can catch all the live action, including the final moments leading up to docking, exclusively on NASA+. Stay tuned for this milestone event as Crew-10 makes its mark on the International Space Station.
