STAR PLUS UK TO AIR ‘MERA NAAM YOUSUF HAI’ THE FIRST PAKISTANI DRAMA IN ITS BROADCAST HISTORY.
London: September 7, 2015: Mehreen Jabbar’ s Mera Naam Yousuf Hai enjoys the distinction of being the first TV serial from Pakistan to be aired on the Star network on Star Plus UK, a first in the network’s broadcast history.

Other Indian TV channels like Colors already broadcast Pakistani shows, and ZEE TV launched the Zindagi channel exclusively for Pakistani dramas last June.
The romantic drama Mera Naam Yousuf Hai stars Imran Abbas who has already made positive inroads into Bollywood. The drama, also starring waseem Abbas and Hina Bayat, will start airing from October 18th as a weekly offering instead of a daily one. Mera Naam yousaf hai is said to be loosely based on the story of yousaf and zulaikha by Jami in his book Haft Awrang and revolves around the two protagonists falling in love with wach other while on a train and the obstacles they face thereafter.
The broadcast will begin on October 18th, 2015 due to a growing demand for Pakistani content.
