The iconic pop-rock band “Strings” of multifaceted Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood wins the “Excellence in Music” award at the Hum Style Awards 2018 that were held in Karachi last night.
The powerhouse duo of Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood laid their band “Strings” in late 80s and has been gracing us with memorable songs from past 3 decades. The band received the award for levitating the bar of Pakistan’s music and its utmost achievements in music nationally and globally.
The internationally acclaimed band has four seasons of Coke Studio under its belt that left people awestruck with its wonderful creations. With five studio albums, multiple scores of anthems, ample soundtracks of films, Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood have given such masterpieces that audience can’t thank enough for.
Earlier this year, Strings announced to celebrate its 30 years of groundbreaking music with the release of eight new singles with the first four tracks being Sajni, Urr Jaoon, Piya Re and Mil Gaya. In July 2018, Strings made its comeback as judges for the Pepsi Battle of the Bands season 3. The legendary musicians kicked off the season with an epic live performance where they performed a medley of Najane Kyun and Bichra Yaar. The amazement doubled when the band set the stage on fire with “Zinda” on the last episode of the season and wonderfully took people down the memory lane with soulful vocals and electrifying performance.
