A MBA degree is an aspiration for numerous individuals to pursue after completion of their undergraduate studies. Many questions fizz the concentration especially when it comes to determining what to specialise in? What would the future prospects be? Which University to choose? Which Country to choose? How would the experience and life be? What would be achieved?
These construct a vacuum and hinders the decision making process for students. We are all aware that the United Kingdom is well known for its academia and unmatchable quality education throughout the world, which concentrates on students and assists building their career for a brighter future.
The same questions entangled me when I had to choose which University to consider for MBA. Being a UK undergraduate from a well-reputed institution and having almost 6 years of professional experience, there was no hesitation that I had chosen my Country but the perplexity of which University was evident. With careful consideration, in-depth research and comprehensive analysis, it was definite to opt for University of South Wales (USW), UK taking into consideration the modules, course description and teaching methodology.
The University of South Wales emphasizes on being confident, independent and fulfilling your potential. It is one of the biggest Universities in the UK, which motions students’ outstanding prospects. USW has campuses spread across in Cardiff, Newport, Pontypridd and Dubai with a 95% ratio of graduates in work or study within six months of graduation (DLHE 2016/2017).

- Business Research Project
USW induces immense effort with dedication into its teaching which has been visible through lectures, tutorial workshops and the extensive reading material. The MBA Global led by Director Dr. Joanna Pritchard is an example of what UK means by unmatchable quality education with support from her colleagues like Henry Enos, Sofia Christidi, etc. In her efforts to continue teaching the students in as ‘normal’ a way as possible during the COVID-19, Joanna – has been recording shorter sessions via Panopto and Blackboard for students to access using their phones, at times that suit them.
“I’ve recorded slides in 5 or 10 minute chunks, as a lot of them do not have the luxury of WiFi access or even a laptop at home. We make assumptions sometimes that everyone has the same technology as we do, so I’ve definitely had to adapt my methods to allow for this, and of course take into consideration the different time zones they live in.”
Conclusion
Realising that MBA is an essential decision for students’ because their career is focused and based on the decision they make, I would personally express my gratitude and extend my thanks to University of South Wales for delivering what it commits. Ranging from the campus itself, the teaching methodology and the support in all aspects including mentorship – it offers an experience for all International Students who wish to build their personalities and develop themselves into hard core professionals. It is an amazing experience being away from home but feeling like home!
