Google services including YouTube, Gmail, Google Assistant, and Google Docs have been hit with a heavy outage and went down for a while as on Monday 14th Dec 2020. As soon as this happened hashtags such as #YouTubeDown, #Google #GoogleDown started to trend on Twitter.
“Users all around the world reported outage with Gmail, Google Drive, the Android Play Store, Maps, and more.”
YouTube’s homepage showed a cartoon captioned with the words “Something went wrong”. The @TeamYouTube Twitter account acknowledged the issues in a tweet and stated:-
We are aware that many of you are having issues accessing YouTube right now – our team is aware and looking into it. We’ll update you here as soon as we have more news.
The outage appears to have happened worldwide but the real reasons are unknown.
