The exclusive, by invitation only, press launch for Mina Siddique’s limited edition collection featuring the likeness of Zeenat Aman was unveiled at 5pm on Thursday evening at the Manzil Hotel. Zeenat Aman flew in earlier that afternoon for the event which was attended by members of the press and social media influencers from UAE, Pakistan and India.
Mina Siddique, the artist and designer, spoke at the event and was thrilled to have chosen the acclaimed Indian actress, Zeenat Aman, a leading star, as the muse and brand ambassador for the summer collection. The strong personality, natural beauty and indisputable charisma of Zeenat Aman make her the perfect match for the unique, modern and fusion artistic designer. Mina Siddique described the collection as a celebration of the independent, contemporary woman and considers Zeenat Aman as a true woman of substance, a lady who has been through the huge circle of life and whose life experience is beyond words.
At 5pm, Zeenat Aman entered the venue wearing the ‘Purple Splash Zeenat Cape’, to the soundtrack of her greatest Bollywood hits, followed by models dressed in signature pieces from the collection. The press were then let into the viewing room as Zeenat Aman posed for press pictures and signed autographs on special postcards for guests and admirers. Afterwards, Ms. Aman answered questions for the press as the guests enjoyed tea and canapes.
In addition, the opening exhibition for the ‘Zeenat Aman by Mina Siddique’ ready to wear collection was also held at Boulevard One, at the Palace Downtown Hotel on 5th March 2016. The stall was an explosion of color with silk capes lining one rack and printed shirts and jackets spiraling down another. Mina Siddique’s avant-garde lamps with strong statement themes and bright cushions in leather and silks adorned the tables along with the original artwork and design prints created for digital printing on the fabrics. Capes, jackets and sarees from the ‘Zeenat Aman by Mina Siddique’ collection were displayed on mannequins and the signature clutches were exhibited on miniature white benches and stands.
The first wave of visitors headed towards the stall at 10 AM and several styles were sold out by lunch. Zeenat Aman and Mina Siddique arrived at the venue greeted by photographers, media and admirers in tow. Zeenat Aman posed for press pictures and signed autographs on special postcards for visitors and admirers. Afterwards, Zeenat Aman and Mina Siddique answered questions from the media out on the patio, followed by a lunch with Niti Gupta, organizer of Boulevard One.
The stall received over a hundred visitors over the course of the day, many of them making purchases from the exclusive ‘Zeenat Aman by Mina Siddique’ collection and several pieces from the latest ready to wear line.
