Zevar’s founder and creative director – Shivani S. Mohinta is a Londoner and her brand is a tribute to her home country – India, along with it’s beautiful flora, fauna, forts and palaces. Shivani works closely with a select group of artisans based in remote Indian villages to create her pieces.

Zevar showcases the finest traditions of Indian craftsmanship such as the “Kundan” enamel work of Rajasthan, temple deity inspired designs from Southern India and Buddhist influences on our designs from Tibet.

Zevar’s jewellery is crafted using traditional Indian methods of setting and enamelling and promises to offer new, colourful and exquisite designs to the UK high street market.

They have launched their summer collection in association with Independent boutique, ASOS Marketplace and Lily-Paris. They will soon be seen on SHOPCADE and The Clothing Lounge too. Also, last month they got featured in the Retail Jeweller Magazine.

Zevar’s handcrafted silver jewellery adorned with semi-precious stones such as turquoise, carnelian, zirconia, marcasite and quartz- their collections so far showcases several traditional techniques of engraving, filigree and setting that are unique to Indian jewellery. The jewelry is inspired by the vibrant colours that are used in Indian folk art, colourful Indian textiles and prints, and hand painted tiles and pottery.

Equally appealing are Zevar’s tribal inspired designs, which are more rustic/ boho in appearance, now available on ASOS Marketplace. A blue lapis lazuli bead necklace with silver pendants is a beautiful example of this collection, and showcases the exotic materials that Zevar’s ornaments are created with based on availability, tradition and symbolic meaning. The colors are those of nature – the rich blues of turquoise and lapis lazuli, the glowing reds of carnelian and coral, the creamy whites of pearl and bone, and the toasty warm hues of amber and horn.

Zevar recently took part at the International Jewellery London exhibition at the Olympia and at a subsequent, smaller exhibition at the Grosvenor House Hotel and have sold out nearly 60% of their current stock, with an average price of £80-£100 per item. They are hoping to build on this initial success and broaden their appeal and lift their visibility in the Asian community through new retail partnerships across the country.
